Mello Yello

The last few days have been SO humid. And rainy. The kind of days when it sort of feels like you're walking through luke warm soup when you're outside. It hasn't been fun and it's really hard to dress for the weather. It tricks you into thinking it's cold and then it really isn't. Today I fought back by just pretending it was much nicer weather. Bright colours go a long in way in fighting dreary grey days too I think...

Today's dress was bright yellow with a floral print in red, white, purple and blue. I bought it from a random Asian clothing store in St Lukes on a shopping day with my Mum and my Aunt. It was on the sales rack for $20.00. Both my Mum and Aunt were surprised that I didn't go for the same dress in green. I have a bit of a thing for the colour green you see. I am slowly evolving into a red stage- and there has been a definite touch of yellow in my wardrobe for the first time in the last couple of months. Its good to mix it up sometimes.

It was another not enough sleep before my alarm went off kind of morning- so my glasses were a necessity. They do an amazing job at covering up the morning tired eyes. I'm almost sick of typing it- but the dress was accessorized with red flower hair clip and red belt. Man- I'm starting to get very predictable!

I had a jacket arrive in the post today that I had actually forgotten I had purchased from trademe. Its cool when that happens. It's kinda like Christmas! Today's surprise package jacket was bought to go with some rockabilly heart hair clips. The jacket is neon green zebra print and is a fabric a little thicker than velvet. Just enough to be furry. I LOVE it. I tested it out this evening but haven't quite nailed the right outfit to wear it with just yet. I have plenty of time to test it out and plenty of things to test it out with at least.

Couldn't resist adding a shot of it even if I haven't quite got the entire outfit sorted just yet.

Hello! I found your blog via Steve Leggat (he's my Twitter buddy), and I love your sense of style! Your outfits are great and I'm getting a lot of styling tips from them. I have a pair of red 1940s-style wedges similar to a pair you own and I had no idea what to do with them, but I think I may try pairing them with an olive dress, too.
